Sheerline takes home top prize at GGP Installer Awards

Project Doors supply Sheerline Aluminium which was designed and created by the Garnalex Group.

Garnalex was named winner of the Best Technical Innovation award at the Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) Installer Awards for its ground-breaking aluminium window and door system, Sheerline.

The residential aluminium windows and doors market has seen little innovation over the past 40 years, but Garnalex has revolutionised the sector with Sheerline. Developed with a whole host of technical innovations, Sheerline is easy to fabricate, simple to install and a dream to sell. Sheerline was designed with the fabricator, the installer and the homeowner in mind. And it’s worked.

Garnalex received the coveted accolade in a virtual ceremony held on 18th March. The judges praised the innovative aluminium system, saying: “Garnalex is a great British company and a great step forward for aluminium. It gives a much-needed boost for aluminium as it’s made in Britain.”

Sheerline first launched Classic, an ultra-secure beadless aluminium window system which combines exceptional performance with refined aesthetics, in 2020. This was followed quickly by its second innovative system, Prestige, launched earlier this year. Prestige is Sheerline’s most versatile and thermally efficient system boasting door U-values as low as 1.0 W/(m²K) for triple glazing and 1.4 U-value W/(m²K) double glazed. This applies to our stock doors at Project Doors, offering a wide choice of outer frames and styles for unlimited design options.

Roger Hartshorn, CEO of Garnalex, says: “We were thrilled to receive this award, and for the recognition that Sheerline really is unique in the market. With Sheerline, we set out to innovate from the ground up, not only transforming the product, but the quality, service and support of aluminium windows and doors as well.

“All major Sheerline components are made in Britain, so we have full control of the supply chain to offer a fast, agile, reliable service, untroubled by supply problems elsewhere., including dual colour combinations. This sort of innovation and customer focus was previously unheard of in the aluminium market.
